State Insurance Regulators Advance Top Priorities at the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Commissioner Fly-In

Meetings on Capitol Hill to Highlight Federal Priorities and Other Consumer Protection Initiatives

This week, the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ (Âé¶¹´«Ã½) will host the 2025 Commissioner Fly-In, an annual event where state insurance regulators convene in the nation’s capital to engage with their members of Congress. During this forum, regulators will discuss initiatives to support constituents and advance state and Âé¶¹´«Ã½ priorities aimed at protecting consumers and maintaining robust, secure, and stable insurance markets. 

During this year’s event, the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ will hear from several guest speakers, including: 

•&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è; Elizabeth Asche, Ph.D. – FEMA Assistant Administrator of Federal Insurance and senior executive of the National Flood Insurance Program

•&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è; Prioritizing policyholders when insurers fail 
•&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è; Supporting property insurance markets by enhancing mitigation and resilience efforts 
•&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è; Preserving consumer access to affordable health insurance coverage by extending enhanced premium tax credits under the Affordable Care Act  
•&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è; Restoring state oversight of Medicare Advantage marketing to better address improper practices 
•&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è;&²Ô²ú²õ±è; Opposing federal preemption of state data privacy, cyber, and artificial intelligence protections

As part of our state-based system of insurance regulation in the United States, the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ (Âé¶¹´«Ã½) provides expertise, data, and analysis for insurance commissioners to effectively regulate the industry and protect consumers.
