Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Holds Bilateral Meeting with ASSAL
On May 3, the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ (Âé¶¹´«Ã½) and the Asociación de Supervisores de Seguros de América Latina (ASSAL) held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the ASSAL Annual Conference in San Jose, Costa Rica. The Âé¶¹´«Ã½ provided updates on a variety of its initiatives, including data privacy, climate resiliency, and DE&I. The Âé¶¹´«Ã½ also discussed continuing opportunities for cooperation and collaboration with ASSAL and its membership.
Participants from the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ included Âé¶¹´«Ã½ President and Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance Director Chlora Lindley-Myers, California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara, and Puerto Rico Insurance Commissioner Alexander S. Adams Vega.

As part of our state-based system of insurance regulation in the United States, the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ (Âé¶¹´«Ã½) provides expertise, data, and analysis for insurance commissioners to effectively regulate the industry and protect consumers. The U.S. standard-setting organization is governed by the chief insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories. Through the Âé¶¹´«Ã½, state insurance regulators establish standards and best practices, conduct peer reviews, and coordinate regulatory oversight. Âé¶¹´«Ã½ staff supports these efforts and represents the collective views of state regulators domestically and internationally.
