Commissioner Pike Speaks on Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Initiatives, Life Insurance Sector, and Solvency at BILTIR Conference
On Sept. 15, Utah Insurance Commissioner and Âé¶¹´«Ã½ (Âé¶¹´«Ã½) Secretary-Treasurer Jon Pike addressed more than 500 attendees at the Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers' (BILTIR) 2025 Bermuda International Life & Annuity Conference.
In a speech entitled "Global Risk, Global Response: Enhancing Cross-Border Insurance Synergy," Commissioner Pike discussed several of the Âé¶¹´«Ã½'s 2025 initiatives, as well as the shifting U.S. life insurance sector. He also highlighted state insurance regulators' work to continue ensuring that insurers can keep their promises to consumers as the life insurance sector evolves.
Afterward, Commissioner Pike participated in a panel discussion on U.S. and Bermuda life reinsurance with representatives of the Bermuda Monetary Authority and the American Council of Life Insurers.

About the Âé¶¹´«Ã½
As part of our state-based system of insurance regulation in the United States, the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ (Âé¶¹´«Ã½) provides expertise, data, and analysis for insurance commissioners to effectively regulate the industry and protect consumers. The U.S. standard-setting organization is governed by the chief insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories. Through the Âé¶¹´«Ã½, state insurance regulators establish standards and best practices, conduct peer reviews, and coordinate regulatory oversight.
